Introduction

To update your MX records with this Domain Name System (DNS) provider, first understand MX records.

Steps

  1. Log on to the website of your domain hosting company with the username and password that are associated with your domain.
  2. Go to your DNS records (Look under the header domain name to find the domain you want to use with @Emailforward. Click Config to the right of it. Under the headline DNS records (A / MX / CNAME) click continue. Look for the header define scope MX records. Under the headline My own MX server, select 'Use my own MX server (FDQN).)
  3. First, delete the current MX records that send mail to your old email provider. After that you'll add new MX records for @Emailforward.mx.
  4. To direct your email to your @Emailforward.mx account, you have to add new MX records to your domain. These are the records that you need to add: mx1.emailforwardmx.com with Priority 10 and mx2.emailforwardmx.com. with Priority 20
  5. Click save.
Be aware it may take as long as 72 hours before DNS changes are propagated, depending on the time to live (TTL) that was configured for your records. Until records have been updated worldwide, you will still receive traffic to your old server.
