Introduction
To update your MX records with this Domain Name System (DNS) provider, first understand MX records.
Steps
- Log in to your account at https://www.afrihost.com/ by clicking ClientZone at the top of the page and entering your username and password.
- Go to your DNS records (In the ClientZone page, select Hosting. In My Hosting, click on your domain under Shared Hosting. Then, click on Hosting Settings, and finally click on DNS Editor.)
- First, delete the current MX records that send mail to your old email provider. After that you'll add new MX records for @Emailforward.mx.
- To direct your email to your @Emailforward.mx account, you have to add new MX records to your domain. These are the records that you need to add: mx1.emailforwardmx.com with Priority 10 and mx2.emailforwardmx.com. with Priority 20
- Click save.
Be aware it may take as long as 72 hours before DNS changes are propagated, depending on the time to live (TTL) that was configured for your records. Until records have been updated worldwide, you will still receive traffic to your old server.Troubleshooting
